Why do folks love living at Harvest by Hillwood in Argyle/Northlake, TX? Is it the beautiful homes, the farm-to-table focus, the on-site schools in acclaimed school districts, the exceptional indoor and outdoor amenities, or the location convenient to two airports and the DFW metroplex? Ask our residents, and they’ll agree those factors are a big part of the community’s appeal.
But the real reason so many Harvest residents stay here year after year is the friendships they make through our award-winning lifestyle program that offers a vast array of events, classes, activities, affinity groups, and volunteer opportunities.
Ahead, we’ll take a look at just a few of the experiences that made the year 2022 at Harvest a year to remember.
Our hardworking Lifestyle Manager, Page Austin, outdid herself in 2022, planning and coordinating a spectacular schedule of activities, events, and festivals! You can read Page’s 2022 Year in Review Newsletter here.
Some of the community’s most popular and well-attended seasonal events include:
The Harvest community is hugely grateful for the support and assistance of the brave men and women from the Argyle Police Department, the Northlake Police Department, and Denton County Emergency Services District #1. In addition to helping us when we needed them, they spent time with us, participating in many fun and educational community events:
Community residents were proud to show our appreciation through donations of food, water, notes of encouragement, and more on special days like EMS week, National Police Week, and International Firefighters Day.
Many of the activities that took place at Harvest in 2022 were about more than just fun. Some also served a greater purpose. Our teen council planned and conducted many community-wide events to raise awareness and funds to benefit our philanthropy partner, the North Texas Food Bank (NTFB), such as:
Each year, Farmer Ross designates crops grown in certain sections of Harvest Farm to be given to NTFB. In 2022, 2,933 pounds of fresh produce went to the food bank in addition to the 47,750 meals donated through fundraising efforts.
If these activities aren’t enough to keep Harvest residents busy, there are other events, just because. These include:
There are Harvest groups and activities for all ages including:
Here are some activities these groups participated in during the past year:
We love hearing that the Harvest lifestyle events and activities make a difference in residents’ lives. Here are some comments from our homeowners, and you can read more on our testimonials page here.
“I love all the friendships I have made with other grandmothers and young mothers. The children are just precious. I love to watch them explore and develop friendships with one another. Beckham, my grandson, loves being a part of all the fun activities with his friends. It is such a sweet time of fellowship as well as getting to enjoy our beautiful amenities!” – Marlene Cranford
“[The Veteran and Emergency Responder Event] was a fabulous experience. Thank you, Ross Perot for opening the museum for us. We appreciate everything you do for our Harvest veterans!” – Jacque
“I look forward to the Harvest Book Club each month! It’s so fun to gather with neighbors, sip wine and talk about the book we just read. The discussions can be lighthearted, but they can also be deep. I learn so much more about the book each time.” – Alyssa Kinnersley
There are many master-planned communities in North Texas, but Harvest, and Hillwood’s other lifestyle communities are a breed apart. Why? Because their lifestyle programs are intentionally designed to create a culture that supports the overall wellbeing of its residents.
We already know the Harvest Lifestyle Program, and its Lifestyle Manager, Page Austin, are head and shoulders above the competition. But here’s proof: both continue to win multiple awards from local and national organizations. Harvest was honored with the Nationals Gold Award for Lifestyle Program of the Year by the National Association of Home Builders in January 2023 plus four McSAM Awards from the Dallas Builders Association in April 2022 including Master Planned Community of the Year, People’s Choice Community of the Year, Best Lifestyle Director and Best Lifestyle Program.
